What are the best flowers for making potpourri?
I want to make (potpourri: dried flower petals) to save some of that goodness for the rest of the year, and just because they are so delightful!
This is my first attempt to preserve flowers, I know I missed the cherry blossoms this year, but there are still plenty of very nice flowers in my neighborhood with very nice people, so I guess I'll go around and ask for premissons
Here are my questions to you:
What do you think are the best flowers for potpourri?
How do you prefer to your flowers dried? (hanged, pressed, sand, etc)
Thanks!

For a good potpourri you should aim for variety, including scents that particularly appeal to you.I do not think there is any thing like the best flower ,all scented flowers lend their contribution to the final effect. It would depend on where you live , what flowers are abundant in your area & within easy reach.Petals of roses, tulips, marigolds, nasturtiums all all good, try to add color by choosing a variety of colored flowers.Remember herbs ,spices & citrus peels are also included.
